Frequently Asked Questions
- How are words counted?
- Words are counted by splitting text on whitespace (spaces, tabs, newlines). Consecutive whitespace is treated as a single separator. An empty input returns zero words.
- Does the character count include spaces?
- Yes. The 'Characters' stat includes all characters, including spaces. A separate 'Characters (no spaces)' stat is also provided for your convenience.
- What is the maximum text length?
- The tool supports up to 100,000 characters, which is more than enough for blog posts, essays, and most documents.
- How is reading time estimated?
- Reading time is calculated at an average of 200 words per minute (adult silent reading speed). Speaking time uses 130 words per minute, a typical presentation pace.
